The letter below is from retiree Ralph Vetrino:
Hello, my name is Ralph Vetrino.  I have been a resident of Conway for 6 years and a member of the Conway Recreation Center since September 2011.

I am 72 years old and feel as if I am 42 years old.  The main reason why I feel this way is the workouts I receive at the Conway Recreation Center.  When I first joined the facility, I was 222 lbs. with a 40” waist.  Today, I am 182 lbs. with a 34” waist.  I work with weights 3 days a week and participate in Zumba 5 days a week.  Each morning when I wake up, I look forward to my workouts at the Conway Recreation Center.

When you enjoy your fitness routine and see the results you want to see…you have reached a milestone.  After that milestone, set another goal and try to reach that.  Do not use the words “I can’t do it” in your vocabulary. If you do, you are cheating yourself.

-Ralph Vetrino

The letter below is
from retiree Joyce Jones:

I am happy to be a part of Cobanc's History, remembering the good time I had in the Hempstead District Court. I never regret a day I worked there. Every day was a happy day for me for the last 26 years. I will glady present a photo of my past days with my co-workers.

Thank for the opportunity.

Sincerely,
Joyce Jones

The letter below is from retiree Elayne Levin:
After extensive travel i.e.=covering all 7 continents, all 50 U.S. states, 60 countries, & 34 cruises-our travel itinery is very curtailed because of physical limitations. But, my Delray Beach Florida location offers many diverse events & opportunities. I go to the movies to see Opera live from the Met., also ballet from the Bolshoi in Moscow. There is a feast of live theatre and I have written a short play which was performed by a local group.  I am taking two classes [foreign films and music appreciation]  I have been facilitating the Book Club in our community.

RETIREMENT IS WONDERFUL.

A sad obit: Grace Ross passed away last month.

The letter below is from retiree Denise Waters:
As anyone will tell you, retirement is the BUSIEST time of your life! There are not enough hours in the day to do what you want to do! I suspect taking that little extra time to linger over a cup of tea with no place to be in the morning may burn up a few of those minutes each day. Of course my husband was retired for nearly 10 years before me so I had a good role model right at home.It has been 2 1/2 years since I retired. I continued my volunteer work at the North Hempstead Animal Shelter, organizing fund raising events and training shelter dogs. One year ago, my friend who raises and shows Chow, presented us with a puppy; we were without a dog since August, when our Moo Shu had passed away. Last week, after a year of training and socialization, ZhuZhu Jane Waters received her Canine Good Citizen AND Therapy Dog certifications. So...to add to my busy schedule, we will be visiting nursing homes, hospices and hospitals in the near future, to bring some comfort to those who are missing their own beloved canines. Life after work is very rewarding...I highly recommend  retirement!
